HELLO!

Thank you for clicking to learn more about me and my passion.

I began my private practice, formally known as Authentic Ground Counselling in 2021- in the middle of a pandemic- and this little counselling practice has continued to grow & flourish. Now called Reflective Ground Counselling & Wellness, the vision of my practice has been to provide counselling services to youth, young adults, and adults, and to provide free and affordable resources (workshops, courses) to support connection, creativity and healing.

As a registered therapist, my aim is to help individuals cope with life stresses in order to live a healthy, sustainable, and intentional life.

My path into the field of counselling began when I took some time after graduating with my undergrad degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and I started to volunteer at a local children’s hospital. This experience led me to Child Life – a role that supports children, youth and families receiving hospital care. Working with patients undergoing some of the most challenging health concerns – from terminal cancer, emergency surgeries, to anxiety, stress, and fears of hospital interventions – became the turning point that led me to expand my Psychology degree to the specialization of Counselling Psychology. This specialization enabled me to further support individuals in managing stress and anxiety beyond the hospital setting.

I then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University, where I gained some of the most valuable experience working with youth and adults navigate extreme struggles, including trauma, substance use, burnout, and coping with stress and emotional pain.

I began my professional career as a Registered Clinical Counsellor in 2019 working as a substance use counsellor for a non-profit supporting youth, young adults and families navigate the complexities of mental health and substance use. This experience has been challenging, but extremely humbling and meaningful. I am grateful for all the clients I have been able to work with and learn from.

My approach is to hear your experience and to help you cope in ways that will suit your needs.
